At Lifetime Heart & Vascular, we are teaming up with Alcanza Research to enroll appropriate patients into cutting-edge clinical trials. Review below to see if one may be right for you. Please discuss with your physician at Lifetime Heart. For these trials, there’s no cost to see if you qualify, and health insurance is not required.

Here are our current trials for which we are enrolling:

AstraZeneca – Elevate HF

HFpEF and HFmrEF • Oral GLP-1

Heart failure can leave you short of breath, tired, and dealing with swelling, even when you’re doing everything right. This research study is exploring a once-daily study treatment for adults 18 and older who are living with heart failure and still having symptoms.

Adults taking part receive study-related care at no cost, and compensation for time and travel may be available. Participation is always voluntary, and you can withdraw at any time.

Inclusion / Exclusion Criteria:

  • Adults ages 18 and older
  • Diagnosed with heart failure and still experiencing symptoms such as shortness of breath, fatigue, or swelling
  • Currently taking heart failure medication (such as a water pill/diuretic)
  • Generally stable and willing to attend study visits
  • Additional criteria apply. The study team will confirm your eligibility

AstraZeneca – AZURE Outcomes

Oral PCSK9 • Primary and Secondary Prevention

High cholesterol? You may be eligible to join a heart health research study. This study is for adults with elevated cholesterol and a history of artery disease.

Inclusion / Exclusion Criteria:

  • Are ages 18 years or older
  • Have history of established clinical artery disease
  • Have high cholesterol levels
  • Additional criteria will be assessed to confirm eligibility

Eli Lilly – J20-MD-EKBG

Oral Lp(a) • Primary and Secondary Prevention

If you or someone you know has elevated lipoprotein(a), you may qualify for a clinical research study evaluating an investigational oral medication for heart disease risk.

Inclusion / Exclusion Criteria:

  • Are 18 years or older
  • Have high lipoprotein(a) levels (≥175 nmol/L)
  • Have had a prior heart-related event or are at risk for one
  • Are able to attend study visits and follow study instructions
